International Polyolefin Conference and Korean Fan Dancing

We attended the IPC again this year in Houston. The advantage of the IPC is that besides the technical talk and the small vendor exhibition is they start the conference with a series of talks on the state of the industry. This included some of the major producer talking about upcoming projects.

Dr. Menard attended.  We now have a Flash DSC in the lab and are accepting samples. Capable of millions of degree per minute heating and cooling rates, this chip calorimeter is a powerful tool for studying polymer behavior.

As usual, both the opening and closing receptions had local groups from Houston as entertainment. The orgnaizers try to give a taste of Houston’s diversity. This year, beside the Mariachi band from a local high school, we also had Korean Fan Dancers.
